We are delighted to be joined by Kaveh Safavi, M.D., J.D. is the senior Managing Director for Accenture’s global healthcare business. Dr. Safavi will outline how digital and the rise of intelligent technologies are helping to address today’s healthcare system challenges and transform healthcare delivery.
Dr. Safavi will be joined by a panel of Ireland-based senior health technologists and experts in health informatics who will provide an Irish context.

Kaveh Safavi, M.D., J.D. Senior Managing Director for Accenture’s global healthcare business
Dr. Safavi joined Accenture from Cisco, in 2011, where he led the global healthcare practice. Prior to that, he was Thompson Reuter’s chief medical officer of its health businesses and United Healthcare’s vice president of medical affairs. He also has served in leadership roles at HealthSpring and Humana. Dr. Safavi has earned the distinction of both medical and law degrees, an M.D. from Loyola University School of Medicine and a J.D. from DePaul University College of Law. He is board-certified in internal medicine and paediatrics and completed his residency at the University of Michigan Medical Center.
Martin Curley, Director of the Digital Academy & Open Innovation at the HSE
Martin Curley is Director of the Digital Academy and Open Innovation at the Health Service Executive (HSE), helping enable the digital transformation of Ireland’s health service. Most recently Martin was Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the HSE. Prior to joining the HSE Martin was Senior Vice President and group head for Global Digital Practice at Mastercard. Previously Martin was vice president at Intel Corporation and Director/GM of Intel Labs Europe, Intel’s network of more than 50 research labs which he help grow across the European region.

Medb holds a BSc in Maths from University of Oxford and an MSc in Applied Maths from DCU. After c.15 years in financial services, she re-joined Accenture in 2013. She currently leads the Accenture Lab at The Dock where she oversees a team that researches, prototypes and pilots new technologies in the area of Artificial Intelligence with pioneering clients across multiple industries and sectors, including Healthcare.
